Anglia’s aim is to offer and test the English language step by step. It is unique that you can work at your own level. If you’re good at English you will have an extra challenge. If English is a challenge for you then you can work with Anglia step by step to get more self confidence.
Schools can decide themselves how Anglia will be used, so it is different per school. Anglia examinations are organized at your own school but they are marked in England. Have you been successful? Then you will receive an Anglia certificate showing your achieved level. |

Step by step successful with Anglia!
The Anglia step by step system consists of 14 different levels. There are 10 general English levels and 4 Business English levels. Regular Anglia examinations test 3 skills: reading, writing and listening. In addition to that you can also test your speaking skills.
There are five set dates during the year that Anglia offers examinations. Usually a candidate would take 1 examination per year. Anglia Business examinations are done on the computer, the other examinations are paper-based. There are four different scores: Refer, Pass, Merit and Distinction. Refer means that the examination was not successful and the candidate will not get a certificate. The other scores mean that you have passed the test, passed it very well or extremely well. You will receive the results via the Anglia coordinator at your school.

The Anglia examination consists of a reading, writing and listening part. This is called the R/W/L examination. You take the three skills at the same time and at the same level. From level Preliminary you can see a percentage score per skill on your certificate.

Speaking Tests

The Anglia Speaking Tests are a valuable addition to the Anglia offer and are available at all levels. You can only take this examination if you also take part in the written examination. The usual question is: "Do you speak English?"

Business English |
If you have passed all your general English examinations or if you are interested in Business English for example because of your future education plans ? Then you can take part in the Anglia Business exams. In these exams the subjects are focussed on Business language.
